Mission:
The Environmental & Explosives Safety Team’s mission includes:
- Providing explosives safety support to Marine Corps installations and ground operations
Tactical Explosives Safety
- Providing tactical explosives safety support to deploying units during training and contingency operations
Transportation
- Providing support to Marine Corps installations and ground operations on environmental issues that may impact explosives safety and the life cycle management of military munitions
- Developing and ensuring promulgation of Explosives Safety Program management guidance and policies in support of FMF operational requirements
- Representing the Marine Corps in joint service forums for issues affecting environmental and explosives safety aspects of military munitions life-cycle management
- Ensuring compliance with service explosives safety and environmental regulations
- Providing compliant munitions disposition instructions considering safe and environmentally acceptable alternatives
