MR. DANIEL PIERSON
DEPUTY, PROGRAM EXECUTIVE OFFICER, LAND SYSTEMS
UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS
Mr. Pierson has over 25 years experience as an acquisition professional with systems
engineering, modeling & simulation, software engineering, instrumentation systems,
training systems, and program management. He joined PEO Land Systems Marine Corps
in April 2007.
Mr. Pierson serves as the Deputy, PEO Land Systems Marine Corps at Quantico. He is
responsible for management and oversight of assigned ACAT I and II acquisition programs.
Prior to this assignment, Mr. Pierson served on the Joint Staff J8 (2005-2007) working
special projects for the JROC and was the Department of the Army Service Coordinator for
the Future Combat Systems (FCS) program (2003-2005), one of the largest DOD acquisition
programs to date. He also served in multiple leadership capacities for the Army’s FCS
program as Director of Modeling & Simulation (1999-2000) and Director of Systems
Engineering & Integration (2000-2002).
Prior to that, he served as the lead systems
engineer for the Combat Training Centers (1995-1999) for the Simulation Training and
Instrumentation Command (STRICOM) in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Pierson began his career at
Picatinny Arsenal first in the Life Cycle Software Engineering Center (1982-1988) and
then as branch head in the Measurement Systems Section (1988-1995).
Mr. Pierson is a Certified Level III Acquisition Professional in the Systems Planning,
Research, Development and Engineering field and in the Program Management field.
