MISSION

Program Executive Office Land Systems (PEO LS) will meet the Warfighter’s needs by devoting full-time attention to Marine Corps weapon systems acquisition, while partnering with Marine Corps Systems Command, in order to develop, deliver, and provide life-cycle planning for assigned programs.

VISION

To serve as the preeminent focal point and standard bearer for excellence and innovation in major land program acquisition management.

Program Executive Officer (PEO) Land Systems (LS) Marine Corps is located in Building 2211, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., and is the Corps’ only PEO comprised of eight Acquisition Category (ACAT) I and II weapons systems programs. PEO LS is a separate command, reporting directly to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research Development and Acquisition ASN (RDA). PEO LS’ integral relationship with Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) leverages infrastructure, competencies and technical authority.

PEO LS manages a diverse program management portfolio. The PEO LS’ versatility is reflected in its broad portfolio management of Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S), Ground-Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) and Lightweight 155mm Towed Howitzer (LW 155). Ground mobility programs include the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), Logistics Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR), Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR), and Marine Personnel Carrier (MPC). The monetary value of these programs across the Future Years Defense Program (FYDP) is approximately $9B.

PEO LS Program Portfolio

MPC - The program is pre-Milestone A and therefore there’s no program Prime at this point. However, the program has built an MPC Technology Demonstrator at the Nevada Automotive Test Center to evaluate all required performance attributes, including crossing of inland water obstacles.

JLTV - Three competitive teams are going through the TD Phase. This Army-led Joint program replaces the Humvee. Industry teams are on track to meet key program requirements. The JLTV program plans to maintain competition through the EMD Phase which should begin in early FY-12.

G/ATOR - Currently in the EMD phase. Has a Four-phased approach to replace 5 current radars with a single state-of-the-art multi-role radar system featuring an air-cooled active phased array. G/ATOR was designated a Special Interest Program last year. Strong technical progress has occurred this past year and a Partial AESA Array has been completed.

CAC2S - The program was restructured last year with a new Acquisition Strategy. Implementation and execution of the Acquisition Strategy is in two phases. Phase I is undergoing testing at Yuma Proving Ground with a Request for Proposal on the street for Phase II.

MTVR - In service since 2001, currently undergoing integration of critical warfighting GFE to support overseas deployments.

LVSR - The LVSR Cargo variant achieved IOC in September 2009 and the first LVSRs deployed to OEF in support of the Mobile Trauma Bay that same September. The program is now focusing on integration of critical warfighting GFE to support overseas deployments. Acceleration/fielding of the LVSR Wrecker variant is set for this Spring.

LW155 or the M777 - The Joint Army/Marine Corps program is currently in production and fielding. System is being fully integrated into the Marine Corps ensuring full supportability and sustainability. Significant FMS Interest in the system: Canada, Australia, India and Brazil.
