The Palletized Load System (PLS) Flatrack Model M1077/1077A1 is a 20-foot long by 8-foot wide welded steel flat cargo body with a front wall equipped with a lifting point. The flatrack was procured for use with the Army PLS and is compatible with the LVS MK18A1 RBU. The flatrack is equipped with International Standards Organization (ISO) locks, sideboard kits and tie down fasteners to facilitate the movement of break-bulk materials and ISO containers. A fully loaded flatrack can be self-loaded and self-offload by an LVS MK18A1 without the aid of additional material handling equipment and by an LVS MK18 equipped with container lifting and loading chains. There are no hydraulic, air or electrical connections or equipment on an MK1077. The Palletized Load System (PLS) is also used with the LVSR MKR18 Cargo Variant.
