System Description: The AN/ULQ-30, CESAS, is an advanced digital Electronic Attack System that can be mounted in a variety of platforms, but primarily the HMMWV. CESAS will provide the MAGTF Commander with the capability to detect, deny, and disrupt threat communication as outlined in the Information Operations /Electronic Warfare (EW) Plan. The system operates from a static, stationary and on the move configuration in the 20 to 2500 MHz frequency range.

Requirement:
Stated Need: The AN/ULQ-30, CESAS, is an advanced digital Electronic Attack System that can be mounted in a variety of platforms, but primarily the HMMWV.
Operational Requirements Documentation (ORD): Currently using a CDD and Capability Production Document is under development.
Concept of Employment: The CESAS will serve as a force multiplier to support the MAGTF Commander's Information Warfare Plan. It will be an organic asset that can be used in conjunction with other systems to provide continuous ground EW support to the MAGTF. It will operate while it maneuvers with the Ground Combat Element (GCE), and search for signals of interest to attack. It will be employed by small teams of Radio Battalion personnel, operating out of a vehicle platform, to attack enemy communications systems and support SIGINT efforts.
Operational Impact: The CESAS will be a replacement for the existing AN/ULQ-19 EA platform.
