Family of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Systems
The Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Team manages the resources to deliver, maintain, and satisfy validated warfighting and national military strategy requirements at optimal life-cycle costs within statutory and regulatory policies. Team members represent the Marine Corps by coordinating and integrating requirement objectives during program research, development, acquisition, fielding, sustainment, in-service support and disposal for all CBRN equipment requirements. This Total Life Cycle System Management includes all aspects of assigned programs from concept development to demilitarization and disposal. Materiel capabilities provided include equipment to: "Sense" CBRN threat agents, software communications to "Shape" the battlefield based on the validated threat and agent characteristics, protection to "Shield" individuals and operations from CBRN effects, and the capability to "Sustain" the force for follow-on operations.
